ABOUT US
The purpose of Action for Africa SL is to improve the livelihood and wellbeing of the population, initially in Sierra Leone and thereafter other West African countries.
Mr. Arthur Carpenter, founder of the company, has frequently travelled to Sierra Leone to visit family. It is apparent to him that there is a desperate need for action to be taken to improve the well-being of the country.
Mr. Arthur J.Carpenter, is a very accomplished Teacher holding several qualifications
He is a Pilot instructor and very highly respected teacher of road safety.
For over 20 years he has run his own training establishment building on over 30 years’ experience in teaching, and coaching.
Arthur loves to impart knowledge to others, to move people forward to better their lives.

is a Sierra Leonian, raised in Freetown, who is the company’s cultural director.
Having lived and worked in West African Countries, Isha understands and has experience of what Sierra Leone stands for, its culture and the wants and needs of its people.
With family in Aberdeen, Freetown, and across Sierra Leone, Isha knows the importance of education, what it can mean to get ahead, and has the drive to help make it happen for Africa
Mr. Ted Needham, a qualified scientist who has spent most of his working life in biological research and investigation, is our research expert. He believes in education, is qualified on road safety issues, and is currently utilising his training in research to teach students about safe driving practices. Ted enjoys problem solving and relishes the opportunity to explore innovative solutions to apparently complex issues.
Mission Statement
Our objectives are as far as possible to advise, train, monitor and suggest improvements to be done in close partnership with the Government and appropriate bodies.
Our over-riding aim is to employ staff comprising over 90% of individuals from the country, the projects are owned by the populace for the Country and its people.
Our aims are to achieve this through increased availability to education, skill training, and medical care, as well as improving the wealth of the country by improving border security so that natural resources, such as fish stocks and timber, are not lost as assets to the country.
Improvements to both road and air transport, which coupled with environmental recycling, will also lead to income for the country from both increased tourism again creating employment opportunities for the people of the country.
